UPSSSC Havaldar Instructor Recruitment 2026 Out: 209 Posts, Apply Online, Check Eligibility, Salary & Last Date

Important Dates

  • Notification came out on – 22 April 2026
  • Online application starts from – 22 April 2026 (already started)
  • Last date to apply – 12 May 2026 (do not wait)
  • Last date to print your form – 12 May 2026
  • Admit card release – will tell you later by email
  • Field trial date – will be announced (mostly in June)

My personal advice: Apply by 5 May. On the last day, the website gets slow. Many people lose their chance because of payment failure. Do not be that person.

Application Fee

The fee is different for boys and girls.

  • General / OBC / EWS (Male) – ₹850
  • SC / ST / ESM (Male) – ₹175
  • All women candidates – ₹175 (same for every category)

Payment mode: Only online. Use UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. No cash. No bank challan.

Honest opinion: ₹850 feels high for a male candidate. But remember – there is no written exam. You are not paying for a test. You are paying for a chance to show your sports skills. If you get the job, you will earn ₹40,000+ every month. So this ₹850 is a small price.

Age Limit (As on 1 April 2026)

You need to be at least 20 years old. The maximum age is 28 for general candidates. But sportspersons get extra years.

  • Minimum age – 20 years
  • Maximum age for General – 28 years

Age relaxation (extra years for sportspersons)

Your CategoryExtra YearsYou Can Apply Up To Age
General / EWS+5 years33 years
OBC+8 years36 years
SC / ST+10 years38 years

Warning: If you are 29 years old on 1 April 2026, you cannot apply as a general candidate. But if you turn 29 on 2 April 2026, you are fine. Check your birth date carefully.

Educational Qualification

You need a graduation degree. Any subject is fine. Low marks are also fine. There is no percentage requirement.

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Your degree should be finished before 1 April 2026.
  • Computer knowledge is good to have but not compulsory.
  • Knowing the local language (Marathi for Mumbai, Tamil for Chennai) helps in talking to customers.

Personal note: Many sportspersons think their marks are too low. Do not worry. The bank does not ask for 60% or 50%. Just passing marks are enough. Your cricket or kabaddi matters more than your math.

Important Points

I have seen good players lose this opportunity because they ignored small things. Please read these 5 points.

  1. No written exam at all – Yes, you heard me right. No reasoning, no English, no math. Your sports medals and field trial are everything.
  2. You must have played at a good level – District or club level is not enough. You need to have represented State, National, University, or Khelo India. Keep your certificates ready.
  3. You cannot choose your city – Cricket players will go to Delhi or Mumbai. Kabaddi and football players will go to Mumbai. Table tennis players will go to Chennai or Mumbai. You have to accept what they give.
  4. You must play for the bank – After joining, you have to represent Bank of Baroda in tournaments. If you refuse, you can lose your job. They are hiring you because you are a player.
  5. Check your CIBIL score – Some sources say you need a CIBIL score of 680. If you have unpaid loans, clear them before applying.

Strategy tip: If you are a male Kabaddi player, Mumbai has 6 vacancies for you. That is good. If you are a female Kabaddi player, 5 vacancies are there. Do not compete with cricket players. Focus on your own sport.

Salary Details

You will join as a Clerk (Customer Service Associate). The salary is not small. It grows every year.

Salary ComponentStarting Amount (Approx)
Basic Pay₹24,050
Dearness Allowance (DA)₹10,000 – ₹12,000
House Rent Allowance (HRA – for Mumbai/Delhi)₹6,000 – ₹7,000
Special Allowance₹2,500 – ₹3,000
Transport Allowance₹1,000 – ₹2,000
Total you get in hand every month₹38,000 – ₹42,000

Extra Benefits (Not Just Salary)

  • Medical – Free treatment for you and your family.
  • Pension – Bank puts money in your NPS account every month.
  • Leave for sports – You get paid leave to play in tournaments.
  • Uniform allowance – The bank gives money for your sports kit.

My feeling: ₹40,000 per month is a good starting salary. Plus you get to play the sport you love. This is not just a job. This is a dream for many players.

Selection Process

There is no written exam. No interview for many. Just two steps.

Step 1 – Shortlisting

  • The bank looks at your application and your sports certificates.
  • National players get more weight. State players get less.
  • They will shortlist some people for the next round.

Step 2 – Field Trial

  • You will be called to a ground (in Mumbai, Delhi, or Chennai).
  • Coaches will watch you play.
  • For cricket – they will see your batting, bowling, and fielding.
  • For kabaddi – they will see your raids, tackles, and speed.
  • For football – they will see your dribbling, shooting, and passing.
  • For table tennis – they will see your strokes and serves.
  • The best performers will get the job.

Warning: The bank does not share their scoring system. Do not argue. Just give your 100% on the field.

Job Profile

This job has two parts – banking work and sports.

Banking work (50% of your time):

  • Sit at a bank branch.
  • Handle cash.
  • Pass cheques.
  • Update passbooks.
  • Help customers.

Sports work (50% of your time):

  • Practice with the bank’s sports team.
  • Play tournaments for Bank of Baroda.

Honest truth: You are not just a clerk. You are a player who also works in a bank. This is much better than normal bank jobs because you get to stay fit and do what you love.

Exam Pattern (There is No Exam)

I am repeating this because many people do not believe it.

No written exam. No reasoning. No math. No English.

Only your sports certificates and field trial matter.

If you are a good player, this is your chance.

Preparation Tips

1. Gather all your sports certificates
Do not wait. Take out your old files. Find your state, national, or university certificates. Scan them. Keep them ready. If any certificate is lost, go to your sports association and ask for a duplicate today.

2. Train for the field trial
Other players will be fit. You need to be fitter. Practice your sport for 2 hours daily. Work on your weak points. If you are a bowler, practice line and length. If you are a raider, practice running hand touches.

3. Check your CIBIL score
Download the CIBIL app. Check your score. If it is below 680, clear your small loans or credit card dues. Some sources say this is required.
