Educational Qualification
- For Technician Grade-I Signal:
- Candidates must possess B.E. / B.Tech / Engineering Diploma / B.Sc. in Engineering in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute.
- For Technician Grade-III (Open Line, Workshop & PUs):
- Candidates must have passed 10th (Matriculation) with ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized institute.
- OR passed 12th (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects.

Selection Process
The selection for RRB Technician posts will be conducted through the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type written examination covering technical subjects, general awareness, mathematics, reasoning, and general science.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original certificates.
- Medical Examination: Candidates will undergo medical fitness test as per Railway medical standards.

- Technician Grade-I Signal: Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of railway signaling equipment and systems. Work involves handling advanced electronic and communication systems used for train control and safety. They ensure the smooth functioning of signals, point machines, and track circuits.
- Technician Grade-III: Work in workshops, open lines, and production units. Responsible for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various railway equipment including coaches, wagons, locomotives, and machinery. They work in different trades such as electrical, mechanical, fitter, welder, machinist, etc., depending on their specialization.
