Central Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank with a pan-India network of more than 4,500 branches and a total business of over Rs. 8,12,000 crores, has released a notification for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the Financial Year 2026-27. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 4,500 training seats across various states and union territories.

Online applications will be accepted from 12 June 2026 to 22 June 2026. Candidates must be graduates (degree in any discipline) from a recognized university, with their graduation completed on or after 01 January 2022. The age limit for unreserved candidates is 20 to 28 years as on 31 May 2026. Selected candidates will undergo one year of apprenticeship training at branches/offices of the Bank.

Educational Qualification

  1. Essential Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University by the Government of India, or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  2. Passing Year Requirement: Candidates must have completed their Graduation on or after 01 January 2022.
  3. Candidates who are registered on the NATS portal are eligible to apply.
  4. Candidates must produce mark sheets and Provisional/Degree certificate issued from the University/College as and when required by the Bank.
  5. Candidates who had training or job experience for one year or more after the attainment of the educational qualification shall NOT be eligible for being engaged as Apprentices.
  6. Candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship either in Central Bank of India or in any other organization/establishment earlier, or are pursuing Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act 1961, are not eligible.

Selection Process

The selection for Central Bank of India Apprentice will be conducted through the following stages:

  1. Online Examination: Objective type test conducted by BFSI SSC. The exam will be held online from the candidate’s own residence using their own device. No admit card is required for the online examination.
  2. Test of Local Language: Candidates who qualify in the online exam will have to appear for a language proficiency test in the specified local/official language of the State they have applied for. Candidates who have studied the specified language in 10th or 12th standard (as evidenced by mark sheet) are exempted from this test.
  3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original educational, category, and other supporting certificates at the concerned Regional/Zonal Office of the Bank.
  4. Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must be declared medically fit by a duly qualified medical practitioner or produce a medical certificate from an MBBS Doctor as per the Bank’s discretion.
  5. Final Engagement: Candidates found suitable after document verification and medical fitness will be issued digital apprenticeship contracts through the NATS portal.

Follow these steps to submit your online application for Central Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026:

  • Step 1: First, register yourself on the NATS portal at https://nats.education.gov.in (Navigate to “Student Register/Login” section). Obtain your Enrolment ID. Remember your login ID and password for future reference.
  • Step 2: After registering on NATS, log in to the portal and view the apprenticeship advertisement for “Central Bank of India”.
  • Step 3: Successfully applied candidates will receive an email reminder from BFSI SSC (info@bfsissc.com) inviting them to register on https://beep.bfsissc.com.

Salary / Pay Scale

  • Stipend: Rs. 15,000/- per month for the engagement period of one year.

Job Profile

Selected apprentices will be engaged in branches/offices of Central Bank of India at the discretion of the Bank. They will be imparted training on different aspects of banking practices, products, and processes. The apprenticeship training duration is 12 months. Apprentices will be a TRAINEE for all purposes and not considered as a worker or employee of the Bank. After completion of training, candidates will be relieved from the respective work area. The Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices during and/or after the completion of the apprenticeship period.

Local Language Test

  • Candidates applying for training seats of a particular State must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in any one of the specified local/official languages of that State.

  • Candidates who fail to qualify this test may not be engaged as apprentices.
